Taxis are plentiful at all exits of the airport.  The cost will run $12.00 to $18.00, or more, depending upon the number of passengers, climatic conditions, and the amount of luggage.  Cabs operating in Washington, D.C. do not have meters; they charge based upon a “zone” system.  Before entering a cab in the Washington area, it is always advisable to ask what the charge will be to your destination.
